Lambie’s Legacy is a 501(c)(3) corporation.  We continue to invest a majority of all donations in Lambie’s Legacy: The Margaret Lamb Guyton Stout Fund of the Toledo Community Foundation where grant requests are funded.  All contributions made to Lambie’s Legacy are 100% tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Members of Lambie’s Legacy continue to reach out to the community in an effort to collaborate with organizations in furtherance of our mission.
Here are some highlights of how Lambie’s Legacy supports our community in many ways and has distributed grants to many local organizations.

Promedica Cancer Institute & Toledo - Genetic Testing
The members of Lambie's Legacy are aware that in our community some people are unable to get genetic testing because they do not have adequate health insurance coverage or financial means. We provide funding on a case-by-case basis so that patients can obtain the recommended genetic testing and counseling. If you have a patient who meets NCCN guidelines but is unable to have testing or counseling due to cost, please reach out to Lambie's Legacy.

The University of Toledo – Center for Health and Successful Living
The UT Center for Health and Successful Living provides free health and wellness services, education and support for survivors of cancer.  In addition the Center is providing free screening days for people in the community who do not have resources available to them by offering free mobile mammograms and breast examinations to the most despaired populations throughout our local community.  Because the University of Toledo’s passionate doctors, professors and student interns, volunteer their time for this program, it has limited operating expenses.

Susan G. Komen  – Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure
Lambie started Team Pretty in Pink (now Team Lambie’s Legacy) more than 10 years ago to gather her friends in support of the cause. As with many of the organizations that Lambie touched, she brought life to this team and made it fun!  We continued the tradition every year with a team of over 60 people at the Race for the Cure in downtown Toledo. Since 2010 when Lambie held the first annual Cocktails for the Cure, over $83,000 has been donated to Komen Northwest Ohio in Lambie’s name.  Please join our team and contact Lambie’s Legacy if you want a Lambie’s Legacy team T-shirt.

The Victory Center
The Victory Center provides hope and support to cancer patients, survivors, and those closest to them by offering free services that help them cope with the different stages of cancer and survivorship giving them a higher quality of life.  Services include massage, reflexology, facials, yoga, counseling and support groups.  The Victory Center, where Lambie served as a board member, held a special place in her heart as she saw the compassion and importance of offering comfort to patients during the trying stages of cancer, especially to those who couldn’t otherwise afford these services.

ProMedica Toledo Hospital Foundation and ProMedica Toledo Hospital Breast Care Center
We proudly continue to partner with ProMedica to provide free mammograms, affectionately called Lambograms, to the uninsured and underinsured in our area.  We also supported the campaign to bring breast Tomosynthesis technology to ProMedica.  This technology, known as 3D mammography, will change the game in breast cancer screening.  It not only accelerates the early detection of breast cancer but also decreases the number of abnormal screens requiring call backs, thus relieving unnecessary anxiety.

Camp Catch a Rainbow
YMCA Storer Camps offers Camp Catch-A-Rainbow (CCAR), free of charge, to enrich the lives of children between four and seventeen years old who are being treated for cancer or who are in remission from cancer.
Camp Catch-A-Rainbow provides the opportunity for children to simply have a good time and enjoy the experience of exercise, recreation, and companionship through activities paced to meet the needs of kids with cancer.  Campers enjoy swimming, archery, horseback riding, high adventure ropes courses, arts and crafts, canoeing, and much more.  All campers are able to experience Camp Catch-A-Rainbow at no-cost through the generosity of donors and grants.
Mercy Health
Mercy Health’s mission is to extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of our communities, especially for people who are poor, dying, and underserved.  We are proud to support Mercy Health in their goal to make access easy, provide compassionate world class level care and improve the health of women by funding mammograms in Northwest Ohio’s only mobile mammography unit.
American Cancer Society
The money raised helps the American Cancer Society fund ground breaking breast cancer research, provide information and support 24/7, and provide access to mammograms for women who need them. Every step you take is personal, and together we are helping to save lives from breast cancer.
Toledo Clinic Foundation
Our mission is to provide financial assistance for patients of the doctors at the Toledo Clinic who are currently undergoing treatment and are in financial need.
If you are a patient of a Toledo Clinic Physician and are having trouble with expenses over and above your medical treatment, we can help.  The Toledo Clinic Foundation can help with rent, transportation, utility bills, child care, etc.
